Generating nearly $100 million in annual revenue, Snapchat is shoring up to be a valuable business asset worldwide. Brian Honigman at Sprout Social argues that “when used effectively, Snapchat’s feature set allows for one of a kind messaging that doesn’t mimic what’s being shared on other social channels”.
The most recent extension of Snapchat’s evolving features, Story Replies, is an example of this one-to-one communication. With Story Replies, users simply swipe up on a Story and can initiate a private exchange of messages between the user and the Story’s owner. Story Replies make it easy for users to start a direct dialogue, thus generating more engagement between users and brands. This type of dialogue not only spikes engagement but it allows brands gain insight around the type of content their users and members are interested in.
