Evolving the Organizational Mindset from an Email Only to a Digital Marketing Focus

Email Marketing | Content, Social & Digital Marketing

Can you believe that one year ago was our first client conference to talk about best practices in email marketing? It's true and we agree, where did the time go??? In looking back, we took a moment to review some of the first user group conference videos and marvel at how far we've come in one year in both innovation & focus. We've moved from just focusing on email to now embracing all of digital marketing and providing products & services to help associations thrive.

I think we're all most proud of our partnership with ASAE which continues to flourish and allows us to spread the word that life's too short for email marketing! We continue on our quest to drive content and deliver results through automation, integration & consolidation!

From a product perspective, I'm most proud of our work in Newsletter Xpress + implementations that are radically changing the workload and creative opportunities of association marketing, communications & tech departments. Imagine a world where you could focus on writing content, curating content and merely tagging it to have it dynamically formatted and sent on your behalf. That is a true world of beauty to think of showing up each day without having to worry about formatting!

Speaking of Newsletter Xpress+ and departments that are rethinking their email communications and operational efficiencies, I had the fortune of speaking with Rachael Bell of NJSCPA at last month's Digital Now conference in Nashville. Rachael showed us all their new automated newsletter which is changing the face of NJSCPA. While they've just started using the system, her first send was smooth and zero complaints from the membership!  I find Rachael to be the secret sauce that so many associations need on staff: an employee with a high degree of business acumen and a high degree of how tech works and what it's supposed to do for you.

As a matter of fact, in thinking over the last year, this Rachael Bell type person is a common thread that I see in all of our clients. Great communications require that you have a cross-disciplinary team that's headed by a leader that really understands and utilizes technology. This commonality is perhaps the biggest reason why we've decided to shift the focus for this year's November 20th client conference from just focusing on the technical side of communications to broadening the appeal to focus on the blending of skills needed to now truly create & produce innovation. The biggest factor I can see in our own clients are that the organizations that are thriving have evolved past email and have embraced a digital marketing mindset. This, I think, makes all the difference.
