In any new relationship, both parties must be adaptable with open lines of communication to ensure trust and transparency. The same goes for a new relationship between an agency and as association. While many factors play into a successful agency and association relationship, I will discuss delivering client success and proactive management.

Delivering Client Success

According to Hubspot Academy, delivering client success with transparent metrics is key in establishing a trustworthy relationship. In order to deliver client success, Hubspot suggests these three main steps:

  1. Goal set and assess

  2. Create a strategy plan

  3. Prepare your internal agency to deliver services in a timely manner

Proactive Management

After the initial relationship is established, it is important for both parties to communicate openly and proactively with one another. Proactive management is important for a number of reasons.

  1. When a client is happy and growing, an agency is likely happy and growing as both parties can flourish through shared effort.

  2. Proactive management leads to more retainer work which leads to increased profit margins. This can also lead to referral business and attracting new talent to an agency.

  3. Proactive management opens up further opportunities for upsell and retention increases.
