Show & Tell: Interactive Calls-to-Action

When I look at websites I’m often driven by the need to essentially find or do something that solves my pain point. I didn’t really “surf” sites until I got a smart phone, and to be honest, it was a way to kill time while traveling. So it’s taken a bit of a mental shift to be on the lookout for websites that illustrate the examples I refer to during my HighRoad U or Inbound Lunch Bunch sessions. Imagine my delight when I stumbled onto another example of an Interactive Call-To-Action (CTA) that may further inspire association inbound marketers looking to convert those visitors into leads.

Remember that we discussed the types of CTAs and that the more interactive they were, the stronger the likelihood for conversion or “stickiness” to further engage that visitor. I was looking for an example for a Quiz/Poll-style based CTA that appeared based on the content the visitor was reading. Here’s an example of what I found:

I was reading an article with a catchy title (of course!) about the top three most dangerous (aka unhealthy) foods to eat – the interactive quiz in the lower left corner caught my eye as I scrolled down to finish reading the article. Riffing off of some gaming style elements, like the clock count-down and leader board links, the quiz is trying to ensure that I don’t leave the website after finishing the article.

Think of the application in the association world – particularly to promote online education or training programs. If I’ve just finished watching an on-demand webinar, perhaps I could be prompted with a “Show What You Know” CTA pop-quiz before I decide to leave the page, followed then by a link to download further materials or resources.

Who else has seen examples of other nifty interactive CTAs? Please do share!
